Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an review of reports of questionable actions directed at women.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published more than 40 books in total, including a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
