Barça Ready for First Match at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years following their departure so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
